Passion?

I’ve been trying, without much success, to capture a truthful and gripping image of my own body. It seems I have neither the imagination nor the technique to photograph myself, and this is painfully apparent each time I’m confronted by startling images of other people’s bodies. Armed with a camera, some people can produce beautiful, arousing pictures, but I’m only able to take stale and lifeless photos devoid of intensity.
And I need intensity for my entry in ClubLaurier’s Passion photo contest. The contest, which I helped launched, seemed like a excellent idea: give people an abstract concept, like “passion,” and see how they respond to it. Unfortunately, only a few people bothered to respond to our challenge.
But I still find the idea behind the context compelling: it challenges me to do something interesting and mildly daring with my own body. Hopefully the final product will be a bit more passionate than the fragments below:
