Snow Day
January 27, 2004
Last night’s snowstorm forced both universities to close for the day, but unlike some people, the closure didn’t upset me too much. I got to sleep in, and once the storm stopped I shovelled the snow for two hours, snot unceremoniously running down my nose the entire time. Shovelling snow makes me feel old, especially at the end when my back hurts each time I thrust my hips forward.
After drinking tea and listening to Jack Kerouac’s jazzy, uncomplicated haikus I felt somewhat younger and I wanted my words to be succinct, lovely, and full of contradictions. Uncomplicated!
All day long
Wearing a hat
That wasn’t on my head
Ah, words should never make sense. I have a lot to learn from my friends and from haikus.
While listening to Kerouac I airbrushed the pimples out of my election posters. Tomorrow I’ll start campaigning, even though these days I’m full of doubts and drained of ideas. I hate it how this election is being reduced to airbrushing pimples out of existence. But at least I have some satisfaction now that my ideas about blogs and representation are catching on.

Damn you, smoothskinnedf(r)iend!
I have a book of Kerouachaiku lying around here somewheres….and a GREATSLEW of his spokenpoetry in various audioformats.
“HERE I AM, 2PM, WHAT DAY IS IT!?”

Maybe we can use the spokenpoetry in various audioformats as the background for our movie. Ya!
