It’s Coming

February 01, 2004

Stress levels will skyrocket from now until voting day as the election campaign kicks into high gear. There are just four more days to organize support and get the message out, so these days the conspiratorial meetings are tinged with strange urgency. The lines between good and evil are firmly drawn, and as a result the campaign preparations have an epic quality to them.

But despite the stress and the uncertainty, it feels good to be part of a bigger movement, a more universal struggle. I’m glad that other candidates are demanding reform and democratic change within the student government. Now that I’m no longer the lone madman ranting on a mountaintop, I’m going through a bit of an identity crisis. What was once on the margin, has suddenly become the centre.

I know all this political talk sounds awfully unspecific, but the details will have to wait a few days. Until then, go to ClubLaurier and watch Jason’s music video (Hey Ya Laurier) — it’s hilarious and I play a small part in it.
