Ecstatically, I quickly took off my clothes in the concourse today and put on the t-shirt Nadine made for me. The shirt fit me perfectly: the size was just right and on it was written “Fuck STARR” in shiny purple and gold letters no less. This is the best shirt I’ve ever received — it even has little sparkly stars!

Many people are dissatisfied with STARR, the hiring process currently used by Students’ Union to hire volunteers, and Nadine channeled her dissatisfaction into making me an obscene (but oddly appropriate) t-shirt. Her gift made me feel warm all over. So warm, in fact, that I wore it for the entire day as I ran through Waterloo taking pictures of pretty things in the crisp, wintry weather. The t-shirt will also keep me warm at the next Board of Directors meeting, and I’ll continue to wear it each chance I get until the system is changed.
