Waterloo Jazz Fest
July 10, 2004

The crowd was all wrong. Most of them had grey hair. Some were bolding and dragged around dogs or children. We felt incredibly old just by being there.
But the Jazz was good, especially on a Friday while watching the bands from a patch of grass at twilight. The saxophone is the sexiest instrument to blow.
Even bunnies enjoyed the sax — a grey one hopped around the parking lot confused by the mass of humanity gathered there. The kids went all crazy at once. They started screaming and chasing the poor creature with arms outstretched — the bunny was scared shitless by this point. The persistent little fuckers looked as though they haven’t eaten in ages and kept throwing stuff at the bunny to make it stop.
We left soon after the bunny scene — we feared the kids would turn on us next (the music seem to have strange effects on them). And at home there was candlelight, jazz and Hendrix, followed by sleep and breakfast with Simon on the lawn. I’m starting to dig spending my mornings in my underwear outside and loudly playing Jazz.
