Let’s Take Photos

January 11, 2005

I haven’t taken any good pictures in weeks (winter is so dreary), so today I sat down and thought of things I’d like to photograph. It’s important to choose good subjects* — you’ll have to experience them intimately. Here’s what I’d like to experience:

  • Ice and snow
  • Abandoned industrial areas
  • Branches and blue skies
  • Skin, sweat, and blond hair
  • Life on a frozen river
  • Shadows and lights
  • Tenderness and cock

I’ll have to start taking my camera and tripod everywhere it seems. And I’ll have to start experiencing new things.

* Once I explored tongues. I asked strangers to stick out their tongues because I wanted to capture their sensuality. A few agreed. They showed me that tongues are yucky organs, and that you have to pick your photographic object more carefully:

  tongue tongue tongue tongue
tongue tongue tongue tongue

I think winter is lovely..it’s ice and hot cocoa, hot sex; cold air and warm beds, snow, sleet, dead plants, winter sunshine, frozen snot in noses and pink cheeks, skiing and silent nights.

lovely thing this winter

Winter, while good for some things, is really sucky for pics. However, I have had abandoned industrial areas on my photo hit list forever. As well as skin, but I lack models…:)

Night pictures are sexy, W, as are all the things you mentioned above.

As for abandoned industrial areas, we should join an Urban Exploration group in KW, Martin. Chicago is full of “urban spelunkers” — indeed, every city seems to have an underground like that. Kitchener too, surprisingly.

Here are more resources:

Well dayam.

I had no idea… thanks for the resources. I’m all for going spelunking with you. Except that it sounds dirty…

I feel the same about not taking photos in the winter. But yours are lovely pictures for such a dreary season.

I wish I had known you at Laurier, Tudor.

It’s never too late (to come back to Laurier), Laura!

And Martin, as soon as I find myself a good pair of crowbars we’re doing the dirty spelunking thing. Oh, and I also have to find myself a code-name apparently — all the cool kids have one.
