Like God, Chicken is a Flightless Bird

July 15, 2005

After a group of 13 year olds and their teacher publicly mocked him, Jason Shim finally came to terms with his Asian nature. “I’ve never been happier,” he told us at Morty’s while our mouths were full of chicken and beer. Since he was the happiest person at our table, and the only one not drinking, I gave him my camera so he could fill it with wonderful images.

Jason makes people look good! And feel good. With our bellies full of chicken we walked back in the night talking of God and mystery. He has that kind of effect on people.

Hey um, what happened to ClubLaurier? Sorry I live in a cave I know nothing.

Jason sure does have that effect on people - what a great guy (who also takes great pictures); such a fun night of hairy chicken wing, beer, and walks in the park :)

Tudor is the new ClubLaurier

Dear Tudor’s camera, I have been thinking about you ever since our chance encounter at Morty’s. Alas, I cannot have you, so I will buy one of your clones. Hopefully soon.

I’m glad I didn’t get sick from that random berry bush. Thanks Laura and Tudor for an uber-awesome evening. :D

Jason Shim, there are six clones remaining :). I got my Fuji because it was cheap — there are better cameras in that category. If you’re truly passionate about my camera, I could sell it to you (I’ve only been using it for about three weeks).

As for ClubLaurier, as of May 1st I was no longer in charge of the site. Last I heard Jason took over and moved servers — another incarnation of ClubLaurier will be online shortly.

Dear Tudor’s camera:
Will you make me art? My walls are bare and lonely. They need nice pictures to make my home feel more homey.
Thank you.

that is an exciting possibility!

So you didn’t end up going to New Hogsmeade? Shucks(: It would have been fun to hear both of your takes on things… AND I’M STILL WAITING FOR MY FRIGGING HARRY POTTER BOOK TO ARRIVE FROM AMAZON!!! THEY PROMISED ME IT WOULD ARRIVE THE NEXT DAY!!!!! Damnit. Canada Post doesn’t deliver on Saturdays. *sniff* They promised! Next time I’m pre-ordering from Wordsworth. Serves me right, I guess, for not helping local businesses… It is now Sunday, and I still haven’t started reading the book yet.

it rained pretty much all day yesterday, so no, no NewHogsmeade for me. if the week-long celebrations last an entire week (as they advertised) then I still might get to see part of it :).

Damn you Tudor for sending me that link. I am THIS close to purchasing it… what are your thoughts on the Canon Powershot G6 vs. the Sony Cybershot?

This whole New Hogsmeade thing intrigues me. I’m not sure if I’m afraid of it, or if I’ll embrace it…but either way, I think it would be fun to check out

Totally(: I didn’t know it was happening for a whole week, though! That’s insane… I think some folks in New Hamburg are going to get a little tired of the whole HP phenomenon.

Dear Jason, I’m neither CNET reviews nor dpreviews.com, though sometimes I wish I was.

Dear Captain Poultry, I think we need a road trip to New Hogsmeade, before the folks in New Hamburg get thired of this whole HP thing and jab us with pitchforks!
