Get a New Wheel Day
August 06, 2005
I went downtown the other day to give money to the poor, listen to some blues, and get myself a new wheel. The poor didn’t want my money; now that the blues festival is in town, the homeless migrated to the suburbs. I didn’t hear much blues either; they were just setting up the stage when I got there.
But I did get myself a new front wheel for my bike. It’s shiny. And goddamn expensive — my wheels cost significantly more than my bike (which I got for free from a dumpster). I stopped on the sidewalk with my new purchase in hand to photograph it closely. People stared at me for a while and I considered asking them for quarters (after all, I still have to buy the rear wheel which is twice as expensive). One day I’ll be forced to learn the fine art of panhandling.
Posted by Tudor at 12:58 PM in Blogathon 2005 | TrackBackTudor, if you fit on an 18” frame and you have $300 you can have my pretty sweet mountainbike. Kona Hahana racelight frame, Rock Shox front fork, Raceface bottom bracket. Better than a dumpster dive, and almost as cheap(: My back popped on me 6 years ago and I never got to really ride my bike after that.

Posted by: Tudor on August 06, 2005 at 07:01 PMTrue. I’ve never seen you in person, so you must be about 6’ (ish) then. Hmmm. NM. Do you know anyone else (about5’8-ish) who might want it? (blatant plug trying to sell my bike;)
