So … Did You Miss Me?

I knew something wasn’t right when I tried to access my blog the other day just to be smacked in the face by an “account suspended” notice. For a moment I panicked — I figured my webhost decided to crack down on the abundance of penis on this site.
The truth was somewhat simpler yet more complex: my credit card payment didn’t go through. And each subsequent attempt to give them money also failed. “Your card is invalid,” they said. Invalid my ass. I was devastated — I couldn’t blog for several hours.
So I made telephone calls to Huston that were never answered and hopped from one foot to the other in my room in the vain hope that would fix something. After a bit of profanity, I eventually managed to make a paypal payment; they were nowhere nearly as quick in restoring my account as they were in suspending it.
Everything is back online now but I think it would be prudent to switch webhosts next year. Any suggestions?
