Happiness Is A Jolt Between Your Thighs

April 12, 2006

Duct tape is the best thing ever. On Sunday I used a whole roll of it to strap a video camera to my bike and drift around town. The day was full of sunshine and surprising jolts — and the movie that resulted is pretty neat too.

Here, have a look (24MB download — right click and save).

Update: Attila’s rendition is a lot more moving than my video.

Where did you bike around? I was thrying all the way through to identify buildings and landmarks, but I couldn’t. Some things looked familiar, but never enough to give me geographical context. Were you in KW?

Cool backdrop music, BTW. What was it? I’m trying to decide if I’d have wanted a little panting and gear-shifting in there for realism. :)

I was biking around London, Ontario, actually :) Sorry for not being more specific. Parts of it probably look familiar because the city has a good, Southern-Ontario feel to it. Hehehe.

As for the music, it’s my friend’s Sygmoral’s piano rendition of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” (read more about it (or download it) here).

Your friend plays a wonderful rendition!

Those dogs are pretty great in the middle there too.

The best is how it seems that you’re going to crash into cars and walls and signs and bridges at nearly every moment, especially through turning corners. It’s a near-death experience to a peaceful rendition of Lou Reed playing in the background. Marvelous!

Wow! I think I just pooped my pants laughing. I have to go home and change now. Hahaha!

Thank you — you just made my day :).

I don’t know, this kind of reminds me of a certain movie that appeared in the Wilfrid Laurier Fringe Festival.

That’s crazy talk Tanya! SEVEN! TWO!

Unfortunately, the fringe video didn’t benefit from the awesomeness of duct tape.

Thank you Tanya! It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who thinks the same…
