Nothingness Can Be So Fulfilling

May 05, 2006

I enrolled in my first photography course, and it tickles my brain with all sorts of new knowledge. During the first class the instructor uncovered the big secret of photography: our cameras are nothing but a big, empty spaces. He even ripped apart a dozen expensive pieces of equipment to show us that there’s nothing sophisticated or magical about a camera — it’s simply a machine that thrives on optics and nothingless.

In an age of electronic gadgets, it’s easy to forget the importance of nothingness.

I can’t wait to see what pictures you create with an actual course under your belt. Your photos are so great already!
