Library Love

In the middle of London’s public library, her eyes got moist and soft.

“I love this library,” she said. “I love these rows of books and the way the building stands right here in the middle of everything, so quiet and calm. I’ve spent hours nursing my books by the window over there, lost to the world. And it felt so good.”

“Oh yeah?” I said. “If you like it so much why don’t you marry it then?”
