Let’s Map All The Lonely Places We’ve Been
August 29, 2006

Do you remember how all the cool kids started geotagging their photos last year even though the process itself was tedious and unintuitive? You first had to hunt for your latitude and longitude coordinates on a map, then tag your photos with the appropriate data, and repeat as necessary. I’m a lazy man, so my enthusiasm for geotagging didn’t last long.
Well, that was then. Today, Flickr made it much easier to map photos — even for incredibly lazy people (like me). All it takes is a couple of drags and drops, and *poof* you get a map full of joy and interaction. Exciting stuff, if you’re into that kind of thing. And yes, you too can get your own map by doing whatever Flickr tells you to do.

Posted by: Jason on August 31, 2006 at 09:16 PMI just can’t wait for those bike photos to go up, Jason!
And yes, who would’ve imagined that mapping photos in physical space would be so goddamn addictive?! Both the MartinMap and the TrevorMap are pretty interesting :)
