Weird time in this land of dogs and toil
January 30, 2008
listen. now and again I use this blog to whine. this is one of those times.
for the last few weeks i’ve had a slight feeling of malaise. nothing i can pinpoint. just an overwhelming need to sleep. all the time. need to talk in sentence fragments and not capitalize proper nouns. inability to finish projects. constipation. lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities. haven’t taken pictures in months. unjustifiable hatred of old people and facebook. persistent masturbation. lack of appetite followed by binge eating of dark chocolate. dishes still not done.
i can connect
nothing with nothing.
the dog isn’t feeling too hot either. she sleeps 20 hours a day. whines the rest of the time. sometimes i scratch her belly and all is better.
we need to wrap ourselves in warm dog bellies until the winter passes over us.

Posted by: Jason on January 30, 2008 at 09:52 PMI think I know how you feel.
Posted by: martin on January 30, 2008 at 10:14 PMExcept for the constipation and masturbation, I have been exactly the same. Let us blame the SAD and pine for springtime.
Posted by: sra on January 31, 2008 at 12:48 AMSounds like you are in SAD need of sunlight… Next sunny day go outside and get as much of your skin exposed as possible. Stand with your eyes closed and just let it sink into your face. You’ll feel better immediately.
Posted by: spindriftdancer on February 01, 2008 at 12:09 AMcome to barrie and let me play with your lomo!
Posted by: regan on February 03, 2008 at 11:48 AMI know how you feel. Walking on my own, the latest time to the waterfront south of Spadina in Toronto, helped me. Just standing there, listening to the laplaplap of the water, the cool wind rushing through me, clearing out the foggy cobweb filled corners of my mind; the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and beamed a path to me, flooding me withh light.
You are welcome to come visit again; I’d love to meet Laura. Miriam is still a delight, the snake is longer than ever, and now I have a turtle too, in a 50 gallon tank. We make yummie food… It just might whet that appetite.
